What to Expect

Free Grace Church (FGC)?

Welcome to the FGC website. We hope this site answers your questions. If you want to drop by a service here's what you need to know to take the first step and visit us.

Time?

We meet at 10am on Sunday mornings but the doors open earlier. So feel free to drop by 10-20 minutes early to grab a cup of coffee and meet some of the people of FGC.

Dress Code?

This one's easy since we don't have a dress code. So if you want to suit up and come with a tie and coat you're more then welcome. More of a flip-flops and t-shirt kind of person? You'll feel right at home.  We welcome everyone regardless of their wardrobe. What God really wants is our hearts to trust and worship him.

 Childcare

We provide childcare in a Sunday School style environment for infants up to 8 years of age. This is available but not a requirement. We love kids and welcome you to worship with your children in the service.

 I'm Here, Now What?

When service starts everyone will grab a seat, and we'll open with some songs. We sing because as Christians we have a lot of reasons to be thankful and lifting our voices is one way to express our thankfulness and worship of Jesus. We'll read scripture as a way to hear from God. We'll pray, which is us speaking to God. There will be a sermon, which is God communicating to us through His Bible and a prepared message from it. Then we'll take communion to remember the death of Jesus for our sins. We'll close the service off with some more songs, and any announcements. If you're new to church, or not a Christian feel free to participate to whatever level you feel comfortable; only we ask that you refrain from taking communion as that is a public declaration of faith in Jesus' divinity and sacrifice.

What About The Other Six Days?

We have smaller groups that get together on Wednesdays and Thursdays called D-groups (short for discipleship groups). Anyone is free to join us during the week (Christian or not), as we enjoy the community that faith provides. We'll eat a meal together, connect with what's going on in our lives, and have a lesson/discussion time to flesh out what it means to be a Christian in Fresno today. In these groups we also work out what it means to be "salt and light" in our community.
