Everything you need to know to visit us on a Sunday...

When & Where?

We meet at 6385 N Fresno St , Fresno CA 93710. Major cross streets: Sierra Avenue and Fresno Street

We meet in the 2-story building on the campus of New Heights Church. Feel free to come by 10-20 minutes early to grab a cup of coffee and meet some of the people of FGC.

Dress Code?

This one's easy since we don't have a dress code. So if you want to come with a coat and tie you're more then welcome. More of a flip-flops and t-shirt kind of person? You'll feel right at home as well.

We welcome everyone regardless of their wardrobe. What God really wants is our hearts to trust and worship Him.

Music?

We sing songs that are grounded in Biblical truth, rich in theology, and Christ exalting. From Be Thou My Vision and He Will Hold Me Fast to Christ Our Hope in Life & Death and All I Have is Christ, you'll hear a mix of ancient, traditional, and modern hymns as well as psalms & other spiritual songs (Ephesians 5:19). You can see a playlist of our song library here on Spotify.

Worship through song is a vital command, not a suggestion, for our regular gathering together as a church family. Songs of truth that are rich in theology and exalt Christ above all things unify the assembly and glorify our Lord. As such, we must never take lightly the content of what we teach & preach through song to one another. When we sing corrupted, careless, or meaningless lyrics in our worship with the saints, we profane the name of God.

Childcare?

We provide childcare in a Sunday School style environment for infants/toddlers ages 0-2, Pre-K ages 3-5.  Additionally we have a quiet "training room" with a live feed TV where parents can sit with their children while training them to be ready to sit together in worship. We love having children with us in our worship services when they are ready for this next step.

How do you know if your child is ready to stay with you in the service (rather than get more practice and training)? We like to think of it like any other distraction. Distractions happen, but uncontrolled distractions can be discourteous. We have all had the experience of a cell phone going off during service. But it becomes a distraction if a person keeps getting calls or won't silence their phone.  The same is true for children. We urge parents to work with their kids at home and in the training room so they will be ready to participate in worship in a way that is courteous to others.

I’m Here. Now What?

When service starts everyone will grab a seat and we'll open with a call to worship through song. We sing because as Christians we have a lot of reasons to be thankful. Lifting our voices is one way to express our thankfulness and worship of Jesus. We'll read Scripture as a way to hear from God. We'll pray, which is us speaking to God. We’ll sing more songs. There will be a sermon, which is God communicating to us through His Bible and a prepared message from it. After the sermon, we answer questions from the audience that were sent during the service via text message. Then we'll take communion to remember the death of Jesus for our sins. We'll close the service off with a few more songs and an invitation to give sacrificially after the service. If you're new to church, or not a Christian, feel free to participate to whatever level you feel comfortable; only we ask that you refrain from taking communion as that is a public declaration of faith in Jesus' divinity and sacrifice.

What About The Other Six Days?

We have smaller groups that get together throughout the week called D-groups (short for discipleship groups). Anyone is free to join us during the week, as we enjoy the community that faith provides. We'll eat a meal together, connect with what's going on in our lives, and have a lesson & discussion time to flesh out what it means to be a Christian in Fresno today. In these groups we also work out what it means to be "salt & light" in our community.

Explore this site to learn more about who we are as a church. You can find information about our beliefs as a church, our pastor, listen to some of our sermons, and more. The best way to get to know us though is in person! So, don't hesitate to reach out to us on our contact page.
